About Judah
A little about the kid of the hour.
Judah Kaushansky
Judah was born in September 2012 and has been bringing his own particular brand of energy to everything ever since. Whether he's deep into a Minecraft world, singing along to Hamilton, or doing a full Weird Al impression at the dinner table, Judah does things his own way — with enthusiasm and a great sense of humor.
For his Bar Mitzvah, Judah is reading from Parashat Nitzavim-Vayeilech — a portion about covenant, renewal, and choosing to show up. That's pretty much Judah in a nutshell.
For his Mitzvah project, Judah is creating a comic book for kids who are facing an upcoming hospital procedure. The comic walks young patients through how to prepare — what to pack, who to tell, and how to find out more about what's ahead. He's partnering with PULSE and the kids from the Dr. Bill Neches Heart Camp for Kids at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh — a community he knows personally and wanted to give something back to.
